That’s why The Stores offers a carefully curated selection of handpicked wines, steering clear of the overwhelming encyclopaedia of traditional varietals and regions you might find in a typical wine shop. Their aim is to showcase classic styles through lesser-known varietals and regions while offering the best value. Their philosophy is simple: if it’s on their shelves, it’s something they love and would happily share with friends and family.

Co-founded by friends and fellow women in wine Abi and Sarah, The Stores was born from a shared passion for showcasing the very best in wine and cheese.

Both local to the area, they bring a combined 25 years of experience in the wine industry—from working in vineyards and sommelier roles at Michelin-starred restaurants like Gidleigh Park, to curating bespoke wine lists for iconic venues including The National Theatre and Wimbledon.

A deliberate choice has been made to work exclusively with independent producers who share the belief that regenerative viticulture and agriculture offer the most effective path to securing the future of our planet. The cheese selection highlights the very best of British cheeses, sourced directly from many local dairies to reduce carbon footprint and support the local community.
